Apparently yearly updates are in order. 2011 was cool. 2012 will be cooler. The Aztec Calendar starts a new cycle soon.
Listen to these bands:
Hammer Bros.
Terror
Move Forward
Cruel Hand
Downpressor
Run With The Hunted
Step Aside
That is all.

So, we’re most of the way through January now and there’s hardly been a minute to breathe. The shop runs smooth as can be expected and I’ve had a chance to get some freelance graphics work in the meantime. Looks like a busy year ahead. Staying stoked! Come get tattooed (or a t-shirt designed or magazine cover illustrated).
I’ve recently had the opportunity to sponsor my good friend and client in her Roller Derby endeavors. Her fans know her as ‘Kat Von Double D’ of the A.Z.D.D. School Yard Scrappers. Their new season is starting soon and I’m sure you’ll be catching me at their bouts.
Also check out one of my new favorite illustrators, Christoph Niemann and his amazing Absract City Blog. Hopefully you’re as stoked on his simple, honest and fun-loving wit as I am.

I’ll be heading to San Francisco tomorrow morning for that Body Art Expo. While there my first set of flash will be debuted and available for purchase. WE also got a new run of t-shirts for the shop that will also be available… So, consumerism aside we (Taylor, Alex, Christopher and myself) really can’t wait to get to one of the coolest cities in the country. Then when we get home there’ll be new floors of stripped bare and sealed concrete in the shop! Stoked!

…that Graveyard might be my new favorite band and there’s more to tattoo conventions than just busting your ass working. I met some cool dudes from Tacoma, WA: Darin Forrest and David Wach from Flaming Dragon Tattoo… check ‘em out if you’re in the area. And of course all the talent that I sometimes forget I’m surrounded by on a constant basis was there doing their respective ‘things’
While working the 9th Annual Valley of the Sun Tattoo Convention in Mesa, it was cool being able to step back and breathe in all the chaos and confusion and watch people thrive on it or get flustered by it or try to hustle through it. I’m really damned lucky to be a part of this ‘art form’/'industry’/'community’.
Seriously though. check out Graveyard!
